Install the Virtual Appliance on VMware
- Liaise with your local Exinda representative to obtain the download files.
- Open the VMware vSphere client.
- Select File > Deploy OVF Template.
- Copy the URL of the latest release of the Exinda VMware Virtual Appliance from Exinda.com, and paste it into the Deploy from... field, and click Next.
- Confirm the OVF template details are correct, and click Next.
- Review and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA), and click Next.
- Specify a name for the virtual appliance. If prompted, choose the location to deploy the virtual appliance, and click Next.
- Choose the format to store the virtual disks for the virtual appliance. Exinda recommends Thick Provisioning(the default).
NOTE
By default, the Virtual Appliance is configured with a single 50GB disk. Additional storage can be added in the form of another disk after the Virtual Appliance has been deployed. See the Additional Storage section for more information.
- Connect the network interfaces to the appropriate network, by doing the following:
- Connect the Management interface to a network where you can manage the virtual appliance.
- If you are configuring the virtual appliance for clustering, high availability, or out-of-path deployments, map the AUX interface to the appropriate network. This interface can be left disconnected if it is not required.
- If you are deploying the virtual appliance in line, add additional NICs.
- Click Next.
- Review the deployment settings, and click Finish to complete the deployment.
