Disabling Junk E-mail settings

When using GFI Archiver with an Microsoft Office 365 mailbox, we recommend disabling the Junk E-Mail Settings to ensure that Junk E-Mail folder in the journal mailbox does not consume space.

The following configuration helps you prevent this issue:

  1. Navigate to the Exchange Admin Center
  2. Expand Mail Flow
  3. Select Rules
  4. Click the New (+) button to create a new rule
  5. Select the Bypass spam filtering option
  6. Enter an appropriate name for the this rule
  7. Under “Apply this rule if…” Expand “The recipient…” row
  8. Select “is this person
  9. Select the Journal MailboxA directory or folder used for receipt, filing, and storing messages of emails.
  10. Click on the Add button
  11. Click the Ok button
  12. Under the “Choose a mode for this rule:” ensure Enforce is selected
  13. Click the Save button
