Obtaining a GFI Archiver license key
During the GFI Archiver post-installation you are requested to key in a license key.
The license key allows licensed users to archive email and files. It also grant rights to users to search the database for archived emails and files. Upon the expiration of the license key these functions are stopped and a renewal of the license is required to unblock the functions.
The license key can also be modified at a later stage. For more information refer to Viewing and editing license keys.

Evaluating GFI Archiver for 30 days
For a free 30 day trial of GFI Archiver, fill in the registration form at:

On registering, you will receive an email with a 30-day trial license key.
NOTE
The trial license key is valid for the latest version of GFI Archiver only. Ensure that you are running the latest version of the setup. The latest build is available for download after registering for the trial key.
I have a license key and want to install GFI Archiver the first time
During installation, key in the license key and verify if the key is valid. The license key is usually emailed to you when purchasing the software.
Your purchased license key is also available on the GFI Accounts Portal. Log in to https://accounts.gfi.com/ and click My products. Select GFI Archiver to see your license key and check its status.
Upgrading to a newer build or Service Release of the same version
When upgrading GFI Archiver to a build of the same version, such as when installing a Service Release, you may use the previously used license key.
If you don't have access to your previous license key, this is available from the GFI Accounts Portal. Log in to https://accounts.gfi.com/ and click My products. Select GFI Archiver to see your license key.
Upgrading to a newer version of GFI Archiver
When upgrading your current installation to a newer version, a new license key is required.
Log in to the GFI Customer Area on https://customers.gfi.com/.
- If you have a valid GFI Archiver maintenance agreement, click the blue key icon on the right and select Upgrade License Key to upgrade your license key. Key in your upgraded license key.
- If you do not have a valid GFI Archiver maintenance agreement, click on the blue key icon on the right and select Renewal. Proceed to renew your maintenance agreement. On completion a new license key will be available.
