1. Download the following Archive Assistant MSI package from http://go.gfi.com/?pageid=MAR_DownloadMSI11.0:

• mar_archiveassistant.msi

2. Save the downloaded file to a shared folder on your network, accessible by all domains.

3. Locate the downloaded file. Take note of the folder path for later use.

4. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Group Policy Management.

5. Expand Forest > Domains > domain name. Right-click the domain name and select Create a GPOGroup Policy Objects in this domain, and Link it here...

6. Enter a name for the new Group Policy Object (GPO). For example: Archive Assistant. Click OK.

7. Right-click the newly created Linked GPO and click Edit.

8. In the Group Policy Management Editor window, expand User Configuration > Policies > Software settings > Software Installation. Right click Software Installation > New > Package to configure the GPO to install on log in.

9. Enter the network path of the shared folder that contains the Archive Assistant MSI package. Click OK.

10. In the Deploy Software pop-up, select Assigned and click OK.

11. The new package is now added under Software Installation.

Use an Administrative Template file (ADMADM files are template files used by Group Policies to describe where policy settings are stored in the registry. ADM files also describe the user interface that administrators see in the Group Policy Object Editor snap-in.) to set up and manage the required registry settings for the GFI Archiver Addon to communicate with GFI Archiver server.

To add an ADM template:

1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Group Policy Management.

2. Expand Forest > Domains > domain name. Right-click Archive Assistant and select Edit

3. In the Group Policy Management Editor window, expand User Configuration > Policies > Software settings > Software Installation.

4. Double-click the package to open the properties window.

5. In the Deployment tab, select Install this application at logon.

6. Click Apply and OK to close the window.

7. In the Group Policy Management window expand Forest > Domains > domain name > Archive Assistant

8. In the Security Filtering Pane, click Add.

9. In Select User, Computer or Group add Domain Users and click OK.

10. In Group Policy Management, expand Forest > Domains > Group Policy ObjectsAn Active Directory centralized management and configuration system that controls what users can and cannot do on a computer network.. Right click Archive Assistant and click Edit.

11. In the Group Policy Management Editor, expand Archive Assistant > User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates.

12. Right-click Administrative Templates and select Add/Remove Templates.

13. Click Add. Open the GFI Archiver installation folder (default path C:\Program Files\GFI\Archiver) and open the Client Tools folder.

14. Locate gfiapps.adm and click Open to add the template. Click Close.

1. In the Group Policy Management Editor, expand File Archive Assistant > User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Classic Administrative Templates (ADM) > GFI Applications.

2. Double click GFI Archiver Server Location.

3. Select the Enabled radio-button.

4. In the Server URL field, type the GFI Archiver URL (for example: https://192.168.7.125/Archiver. Click Apply and OK to close the window.

5. The set up should now be complete. Archive Assistant will be installed the Next time each client machine is started.
