Connection with Linksys SPA3102 analog (FXS/FXO) to SIP gateway
Linksys SPA3102 is an analog-to-SIPSession Initiation Protocol - A communication protocol used for voice and video calls in Internet telephony or private IP telephone systems. gateway equipped with one FXS and one FXO telephone port.
NOTE
This information is designed for Kerio Operator 2.4 and newer.

Prerequisites
To complete the configuration, you need:
- Kerio Operator up and running.
- At least one internal extension.
- The PSTNPublic switched telephone network - A global telecommunications network that operates the traditional telephony system. line connected to the Line port of the SPA3102 device.
- The SPA3102 gateway connected to your LAN through only one port.
IMPORTANT
The Linksys SPA3102 gateway has its own DHCPDynamic Host Configuration Protocol - A protocol that automatically gives IP addresses and additional configuration to hosts in a network. server in the Ethernet (LAN) interface and a DHCP client in the Internet (WAN) interface. If you already have another DHCP server in your LAN, do not connect the Ethernet interface of the gateway. Follow the steps in the installation guide of the device.
After the installation of the device:
- Connect the Internet port to your LAN.
- Connect an analog phone to the Phone port of the SPA3102 gateway.
- Dial

to obtain the IP address of the device. - To enable web administration on the WAN port of the SPA3102 gateway, dial

In the example below:
- The Kerio Operator IP address is
10.1.2.95
. - The Linksys SPA3102 gateway IP address is
10.1.2.200
. - The PSTN number is
123456
.
Configuring Kerio Operator
- In the Kerio Operator administration interface, go to Configuration > Call Routing > Interfaces and routing of incoming calls.
- Click Add SIP Interface.
- Key in a name for the interface. The name must not contain spaces or special characters and must be unique.
- Select New provider.
- In the With external number field, key in the PSTN number and click Next.
- Select an extension that receives all calls.
- In the Prefix to dial out field, key in a prefixCountry codes, area codes, a number, or a set of numbers that are dialed before the telephone numbers. for outgoing calls (

) and click Next. - In the Domain (IP address/hostname) field, key in the IP address of the Linksys SPA3102 gateway.
- Key in an username (
spa3102
) and a password (pass123456
). - Disable the Required to register option and click Next. The gateway does not behave as a SIP registrar, so Kerio Operator must authenticate before each call.
- Select the Edit details of the created interface option and click Finish.
After you finish the configuration, the Edit External Interface dialog box opens:
- Go to the SIP Details tab.
- In the Outbound proxy field, key in the IP address of the gateway and the port,
10.1.2.200:5061
. The Inbound proxy field leave empty. - Click OK to save your settings.
Configuring the Linksys SPA3102 gateway
- Connect to the Linksys SPA3102 web administration interface and go to Voice > Advanced:
- Go to Line 1, in the Line Enable field select no, and click Submit All Changes to save your settings.
- Go to PSTN Line and in the Line Enable field select yes.
- In the SIP Port field, key in
5061
. - Go to the Proxy and Registration section:
- In the Proxy field, key in the Kerio Operator IP address.
- In the Use Outbound Proxy field, select no.
- In the Register field, select no.
- In the Use OB Proxy In Dialog field, select no.
- In the Make Call Without Reg field, select yes.
- In the Ans Call Without Reg field, select yes.
- Go to the Subscriber Information section:
- In the Display Name field, key in a new name (
External Call
in our example). - In the User ID field, key in the PSTN number.
- In the Password field, key in the password configured for the SIP interface in Kerio Operator.
- In the Use Auth ID field, select yes.
- In the Auth ID field, key in the username configured for the SIP interface in Kerio Operator.
- Go to the Dial Plans section and in the Dial Plan 8 field key in the
S0<:123456@10.1.2.95>
string. - Go to the VoIPVoice over Internet protocol - A digital telephone system that uses the internet as the transmission medium, rather than the PSTN.-To-PSTN Gateway Setup section:
- In the VoIP-To-PSTN Gateway Enable field, select yes.
- In the VoIP Caller Auth Method field, select HTTP Digest.
- In the One Stage Dialing field, select yes.
- In the VoIP Caller Default DP field, select none.
- Go to the VoIP Users and Passwords (HTTP Authentication) section:
- In the VoIP User 1 Auth ID field, key in the username configured for the SIP interface in Kerio Operator.
- In the VoIP User 1 Password field, key in the password configured for the SIP interface in Kerio Operator.
- In the VoIP User 1 DP field, select none.
- Go to the PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Setup section:
- In the PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Enable field, select yes.
- In the PSTN Caller Auth Method field, select none.
- In the PSTN Ring Thru Line 1 field, select no.
- Leave the PSTN CID Number Prefix option blank.
- In the PSTN Caller Default DP field, select 8.
NOTE
If your PSTN line provides the Caller IDA service that provides information about caller's number. service, in the PSTN CID For VoIP CID field, select yes, and increase the value for PSTN Answer Delay (see step below), so the SPA3102 gateway can transmit the Caller ID using the FSK modulation between the first and the second ring of the call before the start of the VoIP call to Kerio Operator.
- Go to the FXO Timer Values (sec) section:
- In the VoIP Answer Delay field, key in

NOTE
To transfer the PSTN Caller ID to the VoIP side, key in the number of seconds that represents two rings on your PSTN line.
- Click Submit All Changes to save your settings.
