Configuring File History Retention Policies
Retention PoliciesA system that enables you to control for how long to keep specific emails in your archive stores. define the length of time that an archived version of a file is retained in the Archive Store before it is deleted.
If Legal Hold is enabled, GFI Archiver temporarily suspends all active retention policies. This prevents archived items from being deleted. Archived items are marked for deletion and deleted once the hold is switched off. For more information refer to Configuring Legal Hold.
File History Retention policies are applied from the top down. GFI Archiver checks configured policies during the daily maintenance routine and if there is a match, the retention policy is applied.
