Install the SDP Virtual Appliance
The VMware vSphere client must be installed on a server that meets the minimum requirements specified in For more information refer to Requirements for the ESXi server running the virtual appliance.. The SDP software is included in the virtual appliance, and is available as soon as the virtual appliance is installed.
- Download and install the VMware vSphere client.
- Download the SDP Virtual Appliance package at: http://updates.exinda.com/sdp/virtual/vmware/release/current/sdp_appliance.ovf
- Open the VMware vSphere client.
- Select File > Deploy OVF Template.
- Copy the URL of the latest release of the SDP Virtual Appliance from Exinda.com, and paste it into the Deploy from... field. Click Next.
- Confirm the OVF template details are correct, and click Next.
- Review and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA). Click Next.
- Specify a name for the virtual appliance. If prompted, choose the location to deploy the virtual appliance. Click Next.
- Choose the format to store the virtual disks for the virtual appliance. Exinda recommends Thick Provisioning(the default). By default, the Virtual Appliance is configured with a single 50GB disk.
- Connect the network interfaces to the appropriate network.
- Connect the Management interface to a network where you can manage the virtual appliance.
- If you are configuring the virtual appliance for clustering, high availability, or out-of-path deployments, map the AUX interface to the appropriate network. This interface can be left disconnected if it is not required.
- Click Next.
- Review the deployment settings, and click Finish. The Virtual Appliance is deployed.
- Start the Virtual Appliance.
- Log into the VMware vSphere Client.
- On the Home page, click Inventory and navigate to the virtual appliance.
- Select the virtual appliance, and click Power On.
