Reset a user password
Reset user passwords either when users forget their password, or there is need to change passwords for security reasons.
The administrator can reset the password using the GFI Directory interface. Alternatively, if the users remember their current password, they can perform a password reset themselves.
Reset password as Administrator
To reset another user's password:
- From the GFI Directory console, go to Manage > Users.
- From the list of users, select the required user.
- Click the Password tab
- In the New Password field, key in a new password.
- In the Confirm Password field, re-enter the same password.
- Click Reset Password.
- Click OK.
Reset password as user
If the users remember their current password, they can perform a password reset themselves.
To login as a GFI Directory user and reset your own password:
- In an Internet browser, go to
http://[server name]/GFIDirectory
. - Use your login credentials to access the GFI Directory console.
- Browse to User Details > Password.
- In the Current Password field, type your current password.
- In the New Password field, key in a new password.
- In the Confirm Password field, re-enter the same password.
- Click Reset Password.
- Click OK.
