Invalid credentials error during login
Issue encountered
User cannot login after entering credentials in the GFI OneGuard login page. The page shows this message:
Invalid username or password.
Possible causes
- User does not have permission to access the GFI OneGuard PlatformThe main component of GFI OneGuard that connects all the services offered by the product and the database that stores all collected information..
- Account used is from a different domain than the domain where the Platform is installed.
- Username is incorrect.
- Password is incorrect.
- Password is expired.
Possible solutions
- Enter the username in the format
DOMAIN\UserName
. - Ensure the account's password is correct and not expired.
- The user needs to be part of the Domain Admins group in Active DirectoryA technology that provides a variety of network services, including LDAP-like directory services. and have a role assigned with the necessary permissions. For more information refer to Roles and Permissions.
- Only users from the domain where GFI OneGuard is installed can login to the Platform. Although GFI OneGuard can be configured to manage devices from external domains, it can only verify authentication with the local domain's user directory.
