Auto Discovery is not working

Issue encountered

When setting up a Journal MailboxA directory or folder used for receipt, filing, and storing messages of emails. using the Post Install Wizard you receive an error that Auto-discovery is not working.

Cause

NetBios over TCP (NetBT) is disabled.

Possible solutions

Solution 1: Enable NetBios over TCP

On the GFI Archiver machine:

  1. Go to Local Area Connection Properties > TCP/IP Properties > Advanced button > Wins tab > Netbios setting.
  2. Select Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
  3. Click OK twice to save changes.

Solution 2: Enable DNS to use WINS resolution

In case the network is segmented into various sub-nets, a more reliable solution is to enable DNS to use WINS resolution. For more information refer to: http://go.gfi.com/?pageid=DNS_Wins
