About GFI OneGuard

GFI OneGuard is a software that enables network administrators to centralize, simplify and automate the process of managing security and network resources on network machines. A central web console enables Administrators to manage various features and services on network devices that are joined to GFI OneGuard. GFI OneGuard is made up of 3 main components. The Platform

The Platform is the main component of GFI OneGuard. The Platform is accessed via a web console through which administrators can monitor, manage and control network devices remotely. Each GFI OneGuard setup can have only one instance of the Platform from where the rest of the network is managed. More information...

Controllers

The Controller works between the Platform and the Agents. It automatically discovers network devices and relays communications between Agents and Platform. All network devices managed in GFI OneGuard must communicate with at least one Controller. In typical deployments, the Controller is installed on the same machine as the Platform, but can also be installed separately. Each Controller can manage up to 1,000 devices. More information...

Agents

The agent monitors and executes GFI OneGuard functions on the Microsoft Windows machine where it is installed. The Controller installs the agent automatically when the device is added to the GFI OneGuard managed devices list in the Platform. Certain GFI OneGuard services deploy other sub-agents, such as the Antivirus agent. More information...
